difference between trichiasis and blepharitis?

Hi guys I am wondering if somebody can help me,

About a month ago i went to the optician who done a eye exam on me and said I have a form of blepharitis and give me warm compress etc, The reason i went for a eye exam is because for 3 months now I have had redness in both of my eyes. However when I have looked up online my symptoms seem to be more of trichiasis than blepharitis. red watery constant tired eyes. when i look really closely in the mirror one or two of my lashes are actually growing in a different direction to the rest (towards eye). my eyelids are fine. So i am just wondering what is the difference? Do i need to get these pulled out? My gp wont refer me to a omphatoligst!

2 things I can think of. If you're in the UK the optician can refer you to the eye dept at  your local hospital or go back to your GP and insist he/ she refers you. These eye conditions need specialist diagnosis and treatment. It's your right to be referred for treatment.

second thing is, check if your nearest hospital has an Eye A&E--- a few hospitals do. If you can find an Eye A&E go along there if your GP won't refer you, but describe your symptoms at their worst when you get there.

You ou need an eye specialist to diagnose and advise you. Good luck.

Yes you need to get a specialist to diagnos you dont fool around with  this blepharitis which my opthmogist tells me is the same thing as ocular rosacea, they put me on anitibiotics orally and gave me an antibiotic zromytci knownas Azasite which was a miracle  drop, my doctor is top notch and warm compresses twice a day

There are many good ideas about treatment for blepharitis on this forum. You do need to see a specialist doctor especially about your eye lashes dank94
