Ok, so I've been suffering with dizziness, vertigo, crossed eyes, numbness down one side of my face and mouth, fatigue and head pain or general groggyness for over 6 months now. I've been diagnosed initially with Labyrinthitis, then meniers and now they have no idea so I've had an MRI and now waiting for a vestibular balance test in Dec. My day to day has been massively affected and I've been off work the last 5 weeks.
In most cases I cannot work out my triggers as my attacks happen randomly anywhere and everywhere, however 1 thing that seems to be consistent is the awful attacks I get after having sex with my husband. These attacks are easily the worst ones I get. My eyes go completely cross, I get bad numbness down the right side of my face and mouth, my head goes extremely dizzy and starts to hurt. This lasts approx 10-15 mins and then leaves me feeling groggy for hours after. These attack to be affected by having an actual orgasm, rather than any movements during sex ( have tested this!)
Hi Kaz anything that causes over stimulation can bring on an attack - the vertigo usually sets in usually in seconds opposed to minutes but the feeling of the dizziness can last for hours or days ! Vestibular balance test sounds the go - also stressing a vestibular specialst is who you need to see - gp's are not specialised , also ENT are pretty useless unless vestibular specialist ! Good luck
OK Kaz, I have read the responses to your call for help and most, when taken collectively, sound about right for either Lab or Menieres, I am worried though that your clinical manifestations are also typical of potential heart issues, even though they are appearing on the right hand side of your face; therefore I ask:
1. Are you a smoker?
2. Are you on the Pill?
in the interest of gaining what seems to me to be additional and atypical conditions associated with Lab and Men.
I was diagnosed with meniers initially by my doctor and given Serc8 which made no difference at all. I then saw an ENT specialist who did not think it was meniers as my ear test was fine and basic balance seems ok. I have had an MRI which I am waiting the results for and have a vestibular balance test at the hospital on 14th December. My doc is treating me with migraines in the meanwhile and am on 80mg Propraponol. I'm an ex smoker (gave up 4 years ago) and am on the pill although had my pill changed in Jan as had a blood clot in my leg.
Hi Kaz.....Not sure if I replied to you before but did they doctors say anting about Migranes associated with dizziness???? Shorter way of saying it vestibular migraines????? There is no specific test but they rule out alot of other stuff before coming to this conconclusion. You may need to see a heache specialist who are also nerologist but specialize specialize in migranines....Good Luck
Hiya. In currently being treated for migraines by my doctor. I'm on 160mg of propranolol a day. My vestibular balance test is not until December, and I'm still awaiting my results from my MRI scan.

Hope you are doing better and your vestibular issue has resolved. I have researched for months to find out why I get same dizzy reactions after orgasm and I couldn’t find any resources until I came across your post today. I’m also dealing with vestibular issue but 3 months after it began, I started having same reactions you experienced during orgasm. I feel so down and I just don’t know what to do as physicians shrug it off as anxiety which I never experienced before.
I would really appreciate if you could share whether you found an answer or a treatment ?
I just feel desperate.
