Does anxiety cause dry mouth

Hi, I've had anxiety for some time now. I had some panic attacks and severe stress inducing situations over the past couple of days. Today however when I went out for dinner and drinks with some friends, I felt my mouth getting dry. I had to leave soon after because it wouldn't go away. Even now, 3 hour later, I feel it's still there. I'm wondering if I'm dehydrated, or if it's my anxiety creating a new symptom I should get used to. Please help. Thanks

Shawn

Yes dryness can be caused  by many things especially I get that problem after eating rich food. So all I can suggest is drink plenty of fluids to wash out the mouth.

Just had my dinner a curry, my mouth feels dry even after a cup of tea, try rinsing your mouth. A small glass of milk swooshed around your mouth can take this sensation away

Hi Shawn

Yes anxiety does cause a dry mouth, when I get it I just keep sipping water, ice cold I find is better, make sure you moisten your lips too, hopefully this should help a little. Flippin anxiety!

Thanks Bob! This really helped at that time because during the dinner, we were served very rich food indeed! I did as you suggested and went to sleep. Woke up once during the course of the night and the feeling was gone. Cheers man!

It really helps to know i'm not the only one; especially when it's a new symptom. Everytime i think i'm getting used to the anxiety symptoms, there's a new symptom that pops up! Thanks for responding!

Flippin anxiety indeed! The sensation was gone the next day but now I know it's anxiety. It's a new symptom gah. Anyway, thanks a lot for responding! It really eased me knowing it's anxiety and others have gone through it, and lived to testify =)
