Does anyone else get this??

I was walking to class and all of a sudden I felt myself get very weak like my legs were going to buckle and I was going to drop. This was followed by this weird heat/electric sensation go across my chest and then my heart rate spiked. Is this something that comes from anxiety? It all subsided within 5 minutes. I was diagnosed with anxiety but how can anxiety cause this? I wasn’t thinking about anything nor did I feel stressed when this happened.

It sounds like Anxiety , were you hot, walking up a hill or running ? if not and your GP feels it is Anxiety trust your GP. Your GP will know you and if you feel anxious on a regular basis.

It has been hot and I know I have problems with my disability in the warm weather. I slow down more than normal and sometimes get pins and needles or numbness.

I do not go far when the weather is hot

Oh yes. Anxiety has a mind of its own...often this has happened to me...I could be really enjoying myself. then all of a sudden. I would feel funny. get blurry vision, feel sick and weak...mine goes on longer than 5 mins though...x

Thanks for the reply. How have you coped with this? It was so frightening. I felt like I was going to pass out or go into cardiac arrest. Granite, I’ve seen 2 cardiologists and they have both cleared me but sometimes I just can’t seem to accept that anxiety can cause such horrid symptoms.

Hi BoB,

Thanks for your reply. I was just walking. I’ve seen 2 cardiologists and been to the ER multiple times already but it’s hard to believe anxiety can cause such things.
