Ive written on here before but some time has passed and thought id get more opinions.
21 year old female no history of sores mouth or genital
12/29/15 had unprotected sex once with guy of unknown status
1/5/2016 guy texts says he had some weird feelings in his penis
A month later on
2/9/16 went into clinic with no symptoms, tested for chlamydia gohnorea hiv all negative
2/9/16-2/14/16 had fever body aches headache and very slight vaginal itching
2/13/16 found quarter sized ulcer like sore on inside of vagina on left side.
2/16/16 got sore PCR swabbed. Came back negative. Sore hurt to pee for two days after swab
2/29/16 (8 weeks after inital exposure) got
IgM unreliable but negative at .41
Non specific igG bloodtest negative index value of .76
Now its 3/9/16 and the sore is still there and still lighly itches. Yes its a tad more healed but still there. Does this sound like herpes? Also i have a high negative value for my igG test. Is this important? Or does the test being non specific might make my index value higher because its combining my hsv1 and hsv2 antibody index values together? So appreciative of any opnions or thoughtsm the waiting game with this stresses me out!
if you ask me its all seeming that you dont have genital herpes or nothing like that so whats the big issue ?
however having something like that on the inside of your vagina doesnt sound to normal either.. what does the doctors tell you ?
I know to get more testing to be sure but like many people im inpatient and very nervous. It seems like at times that i dont have hsv2 but then there are some symptoms that make me think i do.
My doc said it couldve been a cyst. And i think ok thats great but then i remember how i had flu like symptoms and iv been itchy. But then i think well it wasnt until 6 weeks after inital exposure did i have symptoms, and the sore hasnt cleared up. Docs want us to get tested at 12 weeks and thats not for another month for me. Its just hard to wait i guess
Herpes doesn't last that long. First outbreak lesions usually heal and are gone in about 3 weeks, a month tops. Recurrences even less. Did they swab the sore for anything else, run other blood tests? Also, if you are testing for herpes, at least do the right tests (you might want to change doctor/clinic, if that's what they advised, btw). No IgM ever for HSV (inaccurate) and no non-type-specific tests (pointless, since type makes a big difference). You could still be seroconverting at 8 weeks (most STD blood tests should be done at 3+ months), but your persistent sore does not sound like herpes. How long has the sore been present without healing?
6 weeks is way out of the normal incubation period for herpes.
I didn't get my first outbreak until 4-5 months after exposer
It has been present just over three weeks. And yes i was very unhappy with the doctor i saw. She wanted igM and i had to pull teeth to get the igG. She said well it doesnt matter to know the type cause it doesnt change anything and if i already use condoms theres no need to know and tell a partner about status. And turned out it was non specific igG anyways.
That is unusual. The majority of first outbreaks occur within a week. How did you test to confirm you have herpes?
A lot of doctors and clinics are not clued in about herpes. Rather alarming!
Seabed a sore but she said if the sore wasn't 24-48 hours new it would have tested negative but I went as soon as I found them.
