one of the few meds I haven't tried yet. Anyone have good or bad reactions to it? Is there anything that actually works? 💊😔
hi I had tramadol and after just one tablet I had bad side effects I was confused and pysically sick bad headache I was in bed for two days but I have heard they work for people
so far iv had a reaction to most of the meds iv been given

I've tried it all to be honest lol I was told by doc if you have fit to the normal pain killers will do nothing the pain killers that work are the nerve pain killers like gabapentin or pregabalin! I'm currently taking 3 pregabalin a day and 3 amatriptolin at night then tramadol when needed

I was on high dosage for a long while but, when taking your very first tablet you must introduce it into your system very slowly by breaking your tablets into halves or even quarters!! Dam doctors, some are just so slack and tell you to take 100mg tablet in one dose, x times per day. I took my first 100mg and I ill, dry reaching, borderline dillarious (splg?) it was HORRID, I was so frightened for myself. I googled the product and read you have to break down the single dosage and over basically a week slowly introduce it into your system. It's no wonder folk get bad reactions and are put off taking the stuff or any other substances.
Tramadol works from the Spine outward, and basically from the neck down. Which is why I was put on it, but even the higher doses for me per day 200mg, 400mg or 600mg made no more difference to my Injury pain etc.. compared to the less amount. So I weened off and only take a reduced amount morning and night, just enough to settle the nerves in my neck into the back of my head. If I don't have it, I'm in deep doo dooo's..
All other aches, pain and stiffness remain the same, or worse. I do have Codamol but it does nothing. Codine helps me sleep but not a good mix with Tramadol on the Liver!! So I don't take it. I also find that taking Trams, Codamol, Ibruprophen my system just gets so dam run down, and I'm still in pain. Plus Gabapentine that did nothing for me other than lose big clumps of my hair. So I weened off that stuff to.
I am relunctant to become a G'pig .... If Savitex ever comes legal here for Fibro, my hand will go up!!
Hi Eathakitt My gp has tried me on every tablet their is going, pain patches also. Ive had severe reactions to them all. so I dont take any tablets for pain relief. I just use wheat bags and hot water bottles. Its finding what works for you and what doesnt. fibro is trial error on everything

I have been on gabapentin and lost my hair. Ihave also had amitryptaline pregabalin and other tryptalines no good I am on tramadol 100mg 3times a day and take dulosetine 60mg and I am fine so far I also use my tens machine which also helps alot.

Tapentatol works better than Tramadol for me
Hi I tried Tramadol, the pain relief was great but my BPshot up. As I have had surgery for a cerebral aneursysm this wasn't good so I gave it up. I am currently taking Paracetamol extra (this is with Caffeine, that makes the paracetamol work quicker) I buy these from the local supermarket. Plus Codeine Phosphate and Amitriptyline to help me sleep. I can manage that on 10mg of Ami at the moment and really don't want to increase the dose.
To be totally HONEST.. the ONLY THING that has EVER WORKED to KILL the Pain for me has been Morphine after surgery and Whacky Backy which I have tried Twice and it WORKS....!! Best sleeps ever to! If I could legally use the Oil I dam well would!! Here in NZ only folk with MS can apply for the Savetix, the Medical Marijuana (splg?)... Shocking isn't it!!

God that's scary! Thanks deb97936! This is all really helpful stuff. I just don't want to try gab and preg as I heard about the weight gain aspect. I know that sounds stupid but surely that will just increase health implications further. This is so hard this stuff!
I think we all have to get involved in the activism side of getting cannabis legal medically. I've signed the petition. It does help.

im definately not trying the gabs or pregs then! The one thing that is good about this horrible condition is that you can't see it. I know everyone says different but I'm grateful for that! I did start with all the Normal pain killers then went on to zapain which did nothing or tramadol I was on 400mg a day but nothing took that awful after yet another break down in the docs I was given gabapentin to try I took the first tab and the pain went but the side affects were hurendous so I stopped them and started pregabalin 3 times a day the pain is gone and I feel good for now x
