Down's syndrome is a genetic chromosome problem. It was first described by John Langdon Down in 1866. He recognised the typical features that someone with Down's syndrome has (see below). There is no cure for Down's syndrome. It will affect someone throughout their life. Someone with Down's syndrome can usually be recognised by their typical facial features. It also causes learning disability and there are some medical problems that someone with Down's syndrome has an increased change of having.
