Drenching night sweats and a swollen lymph node on neck.

I can't say that I have any more symptoms than that. I've had night sweats more on than off for the past 2 years, seemingly around the same time I discovered the swollen lymph node. I usually have to get up about 2 to 3 times a night to change my briefs and or sweats /shorts if I'm wearing them, likely having to dry myself off, from head to toe. I went to the doctor 8 months ago, had clean blood draws, she checked the node, didn't seem very interested in it and told me to come back in 6 months for a biopsy if it's still swollen. I don't have allergies that I know of, I'm a male, I don't do drugs, I do drink, but I've read to only drench sweat strictly when you sleep isn't a symptom of any kind of detox.

Any thoughts?

Yes, plenty! You need a surgical biopsy and you need it now. Exactly the same symptoms I had and I was treated for Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma. Your doctor either needs to get their finger out or you need the to see another doctor!

Get that biopsy done as soon as you can!  And, you might press for a CT scan, too.  Joy is 100% correct.  This is nothing to mess around with.  Best of luck to you!

Can you see another doctor??

I was backwards and forwards to the doctor because my daughter (10 at the time) was going through similar, the doctor didn't take a blind bit of notice so I asked to see another one.

Thank goodness I was taken seriously then because after being sent to Birmingham Children's Hospital and loads of tests she was diagnosed with pre-cursor B Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma.

Hi cam1john. Your symptoms are those of Polycythemia Vera.. You need to see a Hematologist. He can give you a Complete blood test and he can diagnose you. 

​Ask your doctor for a referal.

Hi camijohn. If one has a blood test and the red and or white  count is high, there is a possibility that  one has PV. If the hematologist suspects that you have this disease, he will probably do another blood test to see if you have the jak2 gene mutation which causes this disease. However, you said your blood tests were normal. If that is the case, I would opt for other kinds of tests. Night sweats could be caused by so many things. Keep trying to solve the mystery.
