My teenager has been diagnosed by the optician as having dry eye and it has been narrowed down to two primary causes - not enough sleep and too much screen time. Getting better sleep and less screen time is obvs a next step but any other tips on what could help please? He is 15 years old so is young enough to hopefully reverse the issue.
I had this issue because of my screen time and my anxiety led me to multiple ophthalmologists. One recommended the Refresh Plus Lubricant Eye Drops and they worked for me , I preferred the single use ones ,even though they still had a lot left over because I get anxious with things that go in my eyes.
Thank you! I’ll get some to try. At this point I’m hoping more sleep and less screen time helps but any extra help is a bonus x
I get dry eyes too after long hours on screens. I’ve been using preservative-free hyaluronic acid eye drops along with a warm/steam eye mask, and it helps quite a bit. The mask has to feel comfortable—too hot or harsh can irritate your eyes, so find one with a temperature that suits you and a clean formula.
I usually use the drops 2-3 times at work and use the mask before bed, and it really makes my dry eyes feel much better. Hope that helps with your situation.
Thank you. Most helpful!
