Nesbo,

It’s possible. Sinus infection does not necessarily mean there is runny nose and lots of mucous. When my right maxillary sinus was infected, I was not having runny nose. One indication of infection can be the presence of back drip. Do you awake with some level of soreness in throat?

Best way to know this is to get a CT scan of your sinuses.

Lasted me 8 weeks - both nostrils stuffed up till I couldn’t get any air in nor out of my nose. So I had little choice but to see an ENT and get the surgery done. You may want to first try to do some saline wash and see if your condition improve. Saline washes are generally good for nasal health anyways. If there is infection and the saline wash helps clear that somewhat, then hopefully that does the trick. If you still feel unwell thereafter, get a referral frm GP to see an ENT and get a CT Scan done thru the ENT. Have the ENT check your ears as well. But don’t let the ENT talk you into a surgery inmediately. Weigh in the options before going under the knife. Post op consequences can be plenty and is another whole world to reckon with.

I came here looking for answers and your description of symptoms are very close to mine.

- dizziness/unsteadiness

- foggy

- fullness/ pain and ears pulsating

- throbbing pain/pressure on nose, forehead and cheekbones. Even makes my front teeth hurt!

- episodic of 10 to 15 days, once or twice a year (this year it’s the second time, I can go years without it happening)

- no overall congestion, nose just “feels” stuffy

- occasional sore throat

Went to an ENT last week, but he just nods and writes, and prescribes me a nasal spray and antibiotics. I’ve been told I’ve had sinusitis since childhood - normally just big flus - but I don’t know anyone with these set of symptoms. Does this sound familiar ?

Ive had the same symptoms for some time now. Mine accompanied with skull pressure. Finally going to the ER. My doc told me it was a sinus infection, however there is no runny nose or congestion. Highly doubt if its really a sinus infection.

I never have nasal discharge yet have chronic sinusitis.
