Hello,
Just starting to experience a sort of soreness around my eyes. Don't know if they are a little bit dry as well, often find myself rubbing them. There is a sore/dry patch on the outside of my right eye. Has anyone else been troubled by this? Is it a side effects of meds, I take Amitriptylene? Wecome any advice, thanks
Take care, Anne
Hi you can get a spray for dry eyes, you spray it on closed eyes
Most chemists will have this in stock.
Hope this helps xx
Hi. My gp recently put me on Amitrypliline and told me that I would start to feel some relief in 2 weeks. At the start of the 3rd week my pains got worse and I mean the worse ever to the point I nearly overdosed cause I couldn't handle the pain. I know this pill affects people differently. I stopped taking it and now have to wait 2 weeks before I can see my gp again. I have said this before that I have lost all faith in docs after all the pushing here there and everywhere and being treated like a Guinean pig with all the different meds I've been giving.
i get the oppersite .
only effects me when lying down my eyes will run.
it could be a side effect of meds, but there is also a condition forgive me i cant remember the name that causes very dry and sore eyes where the fluid has to be replaced via drops .so pardon the pun .KEEP AN EYE ON IT.
iv just googled sore dry eyes .and theres lots of info about this subject.
Hi Anne, I was prescribed eye drops by the gp. I don't need to use them all the time but get dry eyes in bouts. Can be a side effect of some meds.

Hi Anne, there is a separate condition of ME/CFS which is the dry eyes and posiibly dry mouth too. Which I have come acroos during google research before. I've been on Amitriptylene 30mg for over a year now and don't personally have that side affect. Good luck googling xx
hi anne, i get stinging around the eyelids when eyes water i just wipe with clean tissue and the stinging goes away, whether it is to do with meds or F/M i don't know doc doesn't know either, i got some eye cream but that doesn't help much, had eyes tested and their ok. hope this helps a bit.
best wishes james
Hi Anne I have noticed my eyes are very dry and I do keep rubbing them. But I am trying to cope without meds just my own painkillers even though I do suffer a lot I just dont like taking tablets
Hi Anne, yes, when I am having a bad bout I get very dry eyes (but not around the outside). I don't think it's to do with my medication (Lyrica). I just use any soothing eye drops from the chemist and wait for the bout to pass. My eyes usually recover as my body does. I wonder if you find this problem fluctuates along with your fatigue and pain?
Hello Linda,
Thanks, that sounds like a good idea.
Take care, Anne
Hello Alig,
Sorry to hear you have had a bad experience with Amitriptylene. I have found it helpful, luckily my Doc doesn't believe in giving lots of different meds. I hope you manage to find a doctor you can trust, and who knows about Fibro.
Take care, Anne
Hello Tiswas,

Hello Michelle,

Hello Julie,
Thanks for your reply. I shall certainly do some more research on it, as I do get a dry mouth as well -put that down to not drinking enough water, which I don't!
Take care,Anne
Hello James,
Thanks for your reply, much appreciated. So it might possibly be just one of those things to put up with, when you have Fibro. Oh well, used to that!
Take care, Anne
Hello Ingrid,
Many thanks for your reply, much appreciated. Do totally get where you're coming from. Do worry myself about taking meds for the rest of my life.

Hello Tigs,
Thanks for your reply, much appreciated. Certainly something to think about, as I have been having a bad week. Thank-you.
Take care, Anne
I use bio oil , it's the only thing that really helps , look into the fodmap diet it's great for fibro and helped with my skin
Do you use visine often?
Is your skin really dry?
Stupid question probably, but could it be allergies?
