Hi everyone just reaching out to see if anyone has got a similar issue. Basically since Christmas just gone that my ears started to ring which is annoying when its quiet. Also along with this I have sometimes fullness in my ears - feels like they are inflated with pressure, also clicky and often I can’t pop them! Have a dry nose at bedtime and sometimes mornings and also I’m having an issue with catarrh at the back of my throat, quite difficult to cough out. Also I have an issue with jaw clenching while sleeping.
I’ve been to the doctors twice and both times they’ve given me steriod spray for my nose and said its eustachian tube dysfunction.I don’t think the spray worked at all. I’m 32 years old, not bad health I go to the gym and hike and I eat a good diet veg, protein and fruit. Drink alcohol only on weekends and vape sometimes.
Anyone else experiencing this or know any remedies? Just feel like the doctors don’t take it seriously.
If your doctor did a Tympanometry test and that was how you reached a diagnosis for ETD. The only problem arises is getting the medication where you need it in a nasal spray form. Use a saline aerosol spray. Tilt your head back spray for 4 sec, then spray with steroid spray and sniff. Try to hold all that from going down the back of your throat for 10 sec. Then blow your nose gently and hack the rest out the back of your throat. Do this for 2 days and if you see improvement continue.
If that doesn’t help you can try using a Eustachi device with the saline and steroid spray. Remember to swallow water while using Eustachi device to pop ears. This is using positive inner ear pressure to alleviate your blocked ear pressure. This took 4 days for me till I noticed results. My ear still pops once in awhile but it’s a lot softer and less noticeable but at least my ear pressure is gone. If you start hearing your voice in your head then your eustachian tubes are open and are not closing.Hope this helps.
No tests, just gave me steriod spray which i used two of them and thats it.
Not been back as I have been putting up with it for months. Sometimes its not so bad but the ringing as never dissapeared. Randomly my ears can start feeling pressured/full.
I had something similar many years ago but not to do with the ears, I was jaw clenching in sleep but also had tension headaches and a pressure across my head. Can’t remember how it fixed itself but it feels kinda related.
Only thing I can try do is quit the vaping but that’s quite difficult currently, always seem to be able to do a few days then forget the reason for doing it which I regret.
I watched a yt video about tinnitus and it said that basically you need to re-wire/train your brain to cancel out the noise which explains why sometimes I’m not aware of it because I’m busy focusing on something.
