Ear ringing Sertraline withdrawal

Just wondered if anyone might be able to help. I was taking 50mg of Sertraline for 7 weeks. I had ringing in my right ear and a horrible upset stomach. I was running for the loo up to 6 times a day. It just wasn’t working for me sadly. I cut it down to 25mg for a week and then stopped, I checked with my GP and she said due to the stomach issues that was fine to do.

I’m 12 days off the tablets now and my stomach cleared up within 2 days. Thank goodness. Sadly though the ringing in my right ear is still going on. Anyone know how long this may continue? I have an appointment in 2 weeks time with an ENT consultant for another health issue so i will ask her then if it’s still going.

I just feel a bit sad that Sertraline has left me with this issue. I took it hoping it would help as I have a globus sensation that is possibly caused by my anxiety. So now not only do I constantly feel like I have a pill stuck in my throat I also have a ringing in my right ear!!

I have exactly the same thing. Came off because of stomach issues and ringing is still there. No idea what to try next. I really hope the ENT person can help you, good luck

How long have you been off them? It’s rubbish isn’t!! The ENT consultant had a quick look in my ears last time I saw her, when I first started the tablets, I explained I’d just started getting a ringing and she said it would settle down. Well it never did and now, just like you, I’ve still got the ringing after I’ve stopped the tablets.
I’ll let you know what she says! I’ve not found anything to help as yet at all xx

Hi! Just a quick update. I saw the ENT consultant today and she said just to ignore the ringing in the ears! She said it can take up to 4 weeks for this drug to completely leave the system. How are your ears and tummy doing?
