Hi there, am about to have a bronchoscopy and ebus procedure, am terrified, they think have sarcoidosis, has anyone got any advice please!

My husband has sarcoidosis and is doing great!Had it in his lungs!He takes methyltrexate 12.5 and it has all shrunk and he is living a normal life.He is 41.

He sees a lung specialist.He did steroids first but it only suppressed it for a while!So he moved to methyltrexate.Doc plans on weaning him off methyltrexate in a few more months to see if it comes back.

Hi Gail,

I was scared to pieces before having my bronchoscopy as well, I remember that feeling like it was yesterday. I was so relieved when it was over as there was nothing to it. I was home before I knew it and had absolutely no issues. Hopefully your procedure will go as smoothly as mine did and you'll be as relieved as I was. I was first diagnosed with sarcoidosis in my lungs in 1999. Most people can live a normal life with sarcoidosis, many are able to have it go into an inactive state within a 3 year window.

Try not to fret over your upcoming procedure, it truly isn't scary as it sounds. When you wake up, you'll have a cough but that should be it.

I had this 15 months ago. I was terrified at the time but it was nothing. I ended up having sarcoidosis in the chest lymp Noieds and esophagus. The meds the rhemotologist started me on were 40mg of Prednisone and 10 mg methotrexate. (Injection once a week) several issues arose wIth in the 15 months. It all depends on the person. It could go stagnant with just the steroid treatments.

I now have it my eyes - not where you want it to attack. On 5 different drops 1 Ointment.

Surgery next week to in place plugs to see if this will help from the dryness and create my own tears my preasure points a extremely high risk

Hi Gail,

I had a bronchoscopy and biopsy done in July and was also very nervous but it was really easy and I had no complications. It was the first time I was ever under anesthesia so I was extra worried.

Sarcoidosis was confirmed from the biopsy. I was prescribed prednisone and my last ct scan showed a significant improvement with only residual nodules. The only symptom I had was joint pain. Some aren't so lucky. This disease is so different in the way it affects everyone. You'll be fine and it will be over before you know it!

Hallo, entschuldige die Verzögerung, aber ich hatte auch eine Ebus. Ich mochte den Gedanken nicht, wach zu sein, während sie durchgeführt wurde, aber es war eigentlich nicht so schlimm. Ich musste 2 Wochen auf die Ergebnisse warten, aber da ich es kurz nach Weihnachten machen ließ, dauert es länger, bis die Ergebnisse vorliegen. Ich war so erleichtert, dass es kein Brustkrebs war, wie die Ärzte zunächst vermuteten, aber Sarkoidose war trotzdem ein Schock, da ich noch nie davon gehört hatte und nicht wusste, was mich erwartet. Viel Glück und bitte lass mich wissen, wie dein Ergebnis ausgefallen ist. xx

Hallo, sie haben mir ein leichtes Sedativum gegeben, weil sie es vorziehen, dass man wach ist, wenn sie den Schlauch einlegen, weil es für die Genesung besser ist, ehrlich gesagt, ich hatte Angst, aber es war nicht so schlimm, wie ich dachte, dass es sein würde. Ich musste fast 2 Wochen warten, bevor ich meine Ergebnisse bekam, was die Hölle war, aber es war eine Erleichterung, als sie mir sagten, dass es Sarkoidose war. Was sind deine Symptome? Entsprechen sie irgendwelchen derjenigen, die du im Internet gelesen hast? Viel Glück, ich bin sicher, dass du in Ordnung sein wirst. x

Willkommen, ich wusste auch nicht viel über Sarkoidose, es war ein Schock für mich. Ich hatte nur eine CT-Untersuchung, um mein Herz zu überprüfen, da ich einen Herzmurmur habe. Dabei stellte sich heraus, dass ich multiple geschwollene Lymphknoten hatte und es sich um eine von drei Möglichkeiten handeln könnte (Brustkrebs, Lymphom oder Sarkoidose). Aufgrund meiner Symptome tendierte mein Arzt jedoch eher zu Sarkoidose. Zum Glück ergab die Biopsie Sarkoidose. Ich nehme 20 mg Prednison (Steroid) ein. Ich muss bald eine weitere CT-Untersuchung durchführen lassen und im April wiederkommen, um zu sehen, ob die Steroide wirken. Ich bin sehr oft müde und habe ständig Schmerzen in der Brust. Wenn es eng wird, nehme ich den Inhalator, den mir der Arzt gegeben hat, und manchmal hilft das. Welche Symptome hast du? xx

Hi sharon, I had a routine chest xray and has shown up what they think is sarcoidosis, haven't said what else could be, had ct scan, blood tests and lung function test, going on Wed, so scared x

Hallo Gail, bitte versuche nicht, dir Sorgen zu machen. Ich bin sicher, dass alles gut gehen wird. Lass mich bitte wissen, wie es läuft. Sie sagen, dass dieser Zustand selten ist, aber es scheint, dass viele Menschen diesen Zustand haben und wir uns alle gegenseitig helfen können. Xx. Viel Glück x

I agree I don't think it's a very rare condition!Hang in there and try to remember we all get hardships at some time but it usually works out ok in the end!Good luck everything!My husband is doing well!
