Does anyone understand this? How could it be a past infection and I am still so sick?
I am wondering the same as that was mu results. Some dr say active and some say past? I have been really sick as well
yes, it’s a past infection. negative early antigen means the virus isn’t currently active or replicating. positive ebna means you’re in your recovery stage. igg and ebna are gonna be positive for life. igm is typically present only 4-6 weeks after the onset, then it becomes negative. i know it’s frustrating, but once some damage is done, it’s gonna take quite a long time to recover. most likely 12-18 months, might be quicker if you’re younger.
Hey Ashlie. Mine is the same. But i get the actual numbers on my test too. Most doctors I’ve seen have said that that shows some activity going on with EBV. If you look up Dr. Montoya at Stanford chronic fatigue clinic, he believes that if you have high early antigen numbers paired with symptoms that you have a low lying chronic infection. He treats that with antivirals for people.
I know its hard. Every doc can give you a different answer. I’m still confused why after 2.5 years my nuclear antigen hasn’t gone positive.

for most people who arent young its a full 2 years . what a waste of time … lost. currently in month 22 from when i actually started feeling sick.
