Hello,
maybe someone can advise me.. I'm now 5 weeks pregnant, although I had implantation bleeding 10 days ago. I have felt constant light cramps across my tummy since then, not painful, just like regular period pain. But also have sharp twinges in my left side that come and go, sometimes it's an ache, sometimes sharp, sometimes nothing all day. I've always had ovulation pain which is painfu. I've also had IBS for 5years so my abdominal area has always been sensitive to aches and pains.
im just wondering if anyone has experienced a side twinge or ache that comes and goes.. Could it be digestive problems?
Hi,
I can see that you posted this a long time ago, but I've just found your message and I have exactly the symptoms you described, other than that I haven't always had ovulation pains. (I'm at 5 weeks, and have IBS, and am feeling pains as you described, except mine are more on the right.)
I was hoping you could tell me that everything turned out ok...? I can't get to the doctor right now, and the pain is nowhere near bad enough to merit A&E (I don't think).
Thanks so much for any reply.
Hi Anne, first off don't worry, they just went away after a while. I think it was just everything stretching, maybe try stretching out if you can? Its amazing how many twinges and aches come about when you're pregnant, it's more worrying early on I think as you're not expecting or familiar with the feeling.
Oh, thank you for replying! (and so quickly!) It's very reassuring. I found some people on Mumsnet who're saying the same thing, too... I don't want to wish the pregnancy away, but I wish I could alread be past the first trimester, when there seem to be so many more risks.
I hope everything is going well with you now, then! :-)
Also, I've just remembered that I did go to the doctor about it, she did an examination on my side to check for my fear of ectopic. I know I ovulated from the side I was hurting on, maybe you're the same.. If you lie on your back and find your hipbone, move an inch or so towards your stomach and press gently with all four fingers, if it hurts a lot then maybe go to the docs for an apt. Make sure you're relaxed though, if you're tensing your stomach muscles it won't work. Also, at 5 weeks it would be very early detection, pain doesn't usually happen until much further along so I've been told. Hope you feel better 😊
Thanks for this advice. The pain seems to come and go, and hasn't *only* been in that place, but it was sort of sharper there. I let the doctor's surgery know I'm pregnant about a week ago, so I should be seeing a midwife soon - but will definitely go to the doctor before then, if it keeps hurting.
Thanks again :-)
