A very helpful post about EMDR. My question is about the use of music that claims to use EMDR (using the stereo aspect, left and right alternate pulses) in widely advertised systems such as the app ‘Calm’.

What is the evidence for bilateral stimulation using music?

The evidence for music specifically is still pretty limited. Most of the stronger data is still around eye movements or tapping. Bilateral music can feel calming/grounding for some people, but it’s not as well-studied yet
