HI! I’m 48 years old and have severe debilitating pain during my menstral cycle. OTC meds like ADVIL, MOTRIN, etc dont work. Tramdol is a prescription med that works but is considered a habit forming narcotic. After a vaginal ultrasound I found out that I have 2 dime sized fibroid supposedly non harmful and small normal cyst on each ovary. MY doctor suggested I consider ablation to get rid of my cycle hence no cycle no cramps. The lit I’ve read says its mostly for women with heqvy cycles which I DONT have. HAS ANYONE HAD AN endometrial ablation and was it successful in eliminating cramps?
HI, I am 51 and had an ablation of my uterus last May. It worked for about 6 months then I started having pain and cramps. Went to the ER and has set up a mass in my uterus. I then had to have a hystercomy. They said the mass was from the bleeding from the ablation. Once you have the ablation you literally cannot have periods anymore and I didn’t know that was one of the side effects was a mass from blood that couldn’t get out. I would suggest you do a lot of research and talking with your doctor before you make that choice. I ended up having 2 surgeries due to one. My issue was heavy bleeding though, not cramps so your outcome might be different. Just read about side effects. Best of luck to you.
Sorry, I did mean to say I did have 2 small fibroids and I also had cyst on my ovaries but they had had not caused me issues since my 20’s. I had the cyst removed 3 x.
Thank you so much for your feedback. This information really helped me make my decision not to have it. I appreciate you greatly!
