hi guys, I’m now 5 months post surgery after having 3 external Hemorrhoids removed. It’s been a very painful process and although I’m better than the early days, I’m still in significant pain. It’s still painful to pass stools, and it aches so much afterwards. It’s starting to affect my mental health, I’m 39 with 1 year old twins and a 3 year old. It’s really hindered me this year. I feel like I’m going to be pain forever. I’m not enjoying life at all and am crying nearly everyday. At my last appointment my consultant suggested having a EUA and Botox injection. Has anyone had this? Does it work/help? Does it hurt? Has anyone been in the same situation as me, still in pain after 5 months. When did start getting better for you? I’m getting married abroad in 2 months and desperately want to be okay. Thank you guys
I has Surgery July 11th and I feel great no pain nothing much anymore. I still have a comfort zone of not to over do myself but feeling good for the most part. I had 3 large hemorrhoids removed and stitches inside and out. if your still having pain contact your surgeon. still take stool softener and be on a proper diet never heard of someone experience pain that long afterwards. hope you all the best

Believe me, I’m doing everything I can do, watching my diet, drinking at least 3 ltrs of water, and take stool softeners.
The pain I’m in is horrific after each BM. I’ve seen my surgeon twin since and the last time he said I might need to have an EUA and Botox injection there to help speed up the healing.
I don’t know how much more I can take. I’m so scared that I’m Not healing correctly and will need further surgery to correct it.

that's scary the more I think about it like healing time is usually a year to fully heal but to be suffering in pain... have you dropped by emergancy department? maybe they could help and speed up your healing. keep me posted please do you have xlyocaine? numbing agent or pain killers? I realize you have kids but try not to bear to much weight you from U.S.A? or Canada ? I feel so bad I want to help
hi emma, ive not had the op yet i am on waiting list. i live in canada i had botox due to anal fissure and hems last october. it was expensive and not covered on insurance. i was advised it would last 3-5 months. mine lasted a week if that, i had it done the same time as my colonoscopy. i didnt find it to be effective but that could be different for you. good luck x

I called my consultants secretary today and I was crying down the phone to her. The pain can be anything from serve discomfort to horrific pain. Luckily there has been a cancellation and I’m able to see him tomorrow. We’re going to discuss the EUA and Botox injection which is meant to speed up healing. But I’ll know more tomorrow.
I feel a bit more positive now I know I’m seeing him tomorrow. I have to get this sorted out, it’s horrible.

I’m going to meet with my consultant tomorrow to discuss the EUA and Botox injection. I didn’t realise that you had to be put to sleep when they administer the injection. Was you out for long? Did it hurt afterwards?
I’m hoping the injection will last longer that a week as I’m getting married in Vegas in November x
