excessive saliva production

For several years I'm suffering from overproduction of saliva which is embarrassing. Several Dental check-ups  did not show any abnormalities.

My GP checked the glans. No abnormality.

His commentary: Better too much production than a dry mouth. 

Quite encouraging, isn't it.  

Any idea what to apply? Anternative medicine? .

karl, i highly suggest u get a second opinion from an ent who specializes in parotid gland issues.

Ear nose and throat specialist.   If u cant fin a great one nearby, a good idea is to go to the otolaryngology dept of a teaching hospital, where they have more cutting edge info.  Good luck, and please keep keepnis posted Karl!  Best,  Patricia

Ear nose and throat doctor's deal with the salivary glands, and there are hundredds of them. Salivary glands. There are specific ent's, however, in my experience, who are really good, and experienced in parotid glandd issues and parotiddectomies.

Hi Karl I have suffered from this problem for the last 6 months my Dr said that it was nothing to worry about but as you know it can be very embrassing and in the morning my pillow and nightware is soaking wet.

I will do a search on parotid glands though

Hi Karl,

i recommend you go to a doctor who specializes in parotid gland issues, and get another opinion.  Also,it can be effected by medications etc. if i were you, i would get a total work up,by a specialist, and keep  going til you find out what it is!.

the post i just wrote to Karl, is for you.

that isn't normal. I highly suggest you go to a specialist til you get an answer and get treatment, and find  out what is wrong and deal with it, and i would suggest soon. Karl's post is 7 month's ago. Saliva comes from the salivary glands. A head and neck surgeon or an ent who specializes in parotid gland issues and is really good is what is best to see.
