I am on 15mg predisolone and my esr is 32. Is Garlic and Ginger good for inflammation, will it help ?
They are both good for inflammation but not sure you should take them if on steroids, read something the other day about avoiding them but haven't had chance to go back and look into it properly.
Hello Mary, From my experience no it won't help.
But there's no harm trying it.
There are a number of anti-inflammatory foods, you could include both pineapple and turmeric along with the ginger and garlic. There's no reason why you shouldn't eat them, but in moderation of course. Too much of anything is not a good idea.
Whether or not they help is a different question. Some find they do, others find they don't and I belong in the last category. However, I do have gastric problems which prevent me eating the garlic and turmeric so perhaps I'm not in the best position to know! There are more, and I think if you just google anti-inflammatory foods you will get a whole list.
If you take a live yoghurt each morning and a teaspoonful of Manuka Honey each day (must be labelled UMF on jar and +5, 10. 15 or 20 , none of them are cheap). The Manuka Honey boosts your immune system and has anti-biotic properties. It also comes in a cream and is brilliant for cuts, varicose ulcers and MRSA in open wounds etc. They also cut down gastric problems.
