Hi all, sorry to bother you. I've had pain behind my eyes on and off for the precious two days (mostly occurs at night) I wouldn't say it's particularly sore but just can feel a strange throb sensation and then it passes and I fall back to sleep. Is this the sort of sensation that would be felt for ms symptoms? I'm just not sure whether I wait and see the optometrist or go to the doctor and explain my symptoms. I also have Herpes type 1 which I've read can be an environmental factor to contribute to ms.

Would really appreciate advice. At this time of night not really anyone to speak to! Thanks

Hi, I'd definitely suggest seeing your go, sooner rather than later. If you're not diagnosed with MS, but suspect that's what you have, it's worth noting that optic neuritis (which causes eye pain) is, most often, the symptom that finally leads to a diagnosis. (Albeit several tests/examinations away).

Thanks, that's what I suspect I have anyway. I have an appointment this morning. I am worried about it but I guess the sooner I have a diagnosis the sooner I will receive treatment. Thanks for your reply. I am worried though. I know absolutely nothing about ms.

I really do recommend you try the MS society website, for information about MS. The message boards are really good too and are welcoming of people at any stage of the diagnosis treadmill, the process can be very long and drawn out. I always suggest keeping a record of all symptoms, start/end dates etc. as they tend to help make the most of any medical appointments.

As far as I can tell this is my first symptom. The only other thing I can think of is pins and needles in my pinkies. Although to be honest I could always explain those as the way I always sitting and how I had my hands. Also had aches down my left arm which I put down to a trapped nerve.

Off to the doctors now...although I got a row from the secretary as she didn't hink eye pain was an emergency :-)

Try directing your Secretary to info about optic neuritis, see if that gives her something to think about. It's statistically improbable that you have MS, thankfully. Hopefully you just need glasses or better lighting. Good luck.
