Failed bunionectomy

I had my double bunionectomy 2.5 years ago, however they have returned and are more severe than pre-op. I’ve since moved away and can no longer contact my surgeon, any recommendations? Has this happened to anyone else?

I too had a failed bunionectomy 2 years ago and mine is worse than before too.  It was from the beginning though and has gradually pushed my little toe outwards.  I saw another surgeon and he is trying me with made to measure shoes, but they are rubbing on my little toe.  My foot is now far more painful than before I had my bunion operation.and I wish I had never had it done.

I have had many insoles that are customized to my feet, but have such a hard time finding shoes that fit them in. The arch is terribly high and most laced shoes won’t accomodate. I think I’ll go back for a second surgery but I am worried it will shorten my big toe even more. Additionally, I’ve had really thick keloid scarring. How have you dealt with scarring?

I haven't had trouble with scarring The other surgeon I went to was scathing of the fact a podiatrist did my operation.  He is trying me with the shoes and if I am no better, he will do another operation but is loth to do so really.  You could ask to be referred to Orthotics at the hospital and they make the shoes free of charge, 2 pairs, and do any work on them that needs doing afterwards.  A friend bought some made to measure similar and they cost her £900.  I don't think the shoes are going to work for me though as my little toe is now sticking out so much, where it wasn't before the bunion op.  Now I still have my bunion in worse shape than before plus my problem toe so I am far worse off than before the op
