Falling asleep tremors

Hi all. Ive recently (in the past month or so) started having tremors that wake me up in my sleep. It started as waking up gasping for air tremoring once. Then it became more frequent and eventually started happening as I was drifting off to sleep. After going to the doc and having bloodwork done- normal brain MRI normal, I was able to relax a little and take Xanax to sleep just temporarily. I weaned myself off the Xanax and did well for a few days. I have used the Calm app to meditate occasionally which calms the tremors. When i did well for a few days I would still wake up early in the morning with a vibrating feeling in my arms so I started worrying again and I've slightly regressed today. Any others out there with similar symptoms? I have a vacation coming up so I'm hoping that helps. I went to a neurologist who didnt know what was happening. He thought maybe it was a version of restless leg syndrome but Im not convinced.

hi
I have this also, i shoot up gasping for air, i also twitch and jump as I’m drifting off . I’ve googled and frightened myself to death as im worried I have a neurological illness. the only thing that makes me feel a bit better is that I’ve had them for years so surely I would know by now if I had something seriously wrong. I do suffer with very bad health anxiety and have done for about 30 years so I think this has taken its toll on my body and a lot of physical symptoms I have is down to this. I also have twitches all over my body and get like a shaky/tremor feeling sometimes. I have had blood tests but no brain scans as I am too frightened to go, but you have and it has shown normal so I’m pretty sure you’ve nothing to worry about. if you are thinking about it, it will make it worse. try and relax you will be fine xx

hi Lisa. Thank you for your reply. I do feel they are related to my anxiety but they literally wake me up and I cant sleep which doesnt help. The fact that they had calmed down when I felt I was getting better makes me think they are anxiety related. The day I started googling scary diseases they got worse again. It seems to be subconscious as it happens in my sleep. Do yours go away sometimes at least? This would be terrible if its my new normal
