It seems unlikely, as the fan isn’t on him directly, but could having a fan on at night cause a child to develop a cough?
With the heatwaves, the rooms have been stiflingly hot, and we have very limited breeze at night even with windows open.
He has struggled with hayfever so it’s open the windows for cool air, followed with a very congested / itchy eyed child.
So we invested in an air purifier which has actually worked wonders, but I’ve noticed he now has a chesty cough but zero feverlike symptoms, and no snotty nose.
Have I inadvertantly given my child a chest infection?
He doesn’t cough persistently. But when he does, it’s very obviously a phlegmy, wet cough, and it’s coming from the chest, not throat.
He’s had it for about 6 days now.
I’d appreciate kind, compassionate responses. I suffer with terrible hypervigilance and anxiety and have recently managed to overcome prolonged post-natal depression.
