Fibroid embolization

I just had a fibroid embolization 21/2 weeks ago. My body temp is definately off I get chills but then Ill get a hot flash mostly during the night. Im having a severe pain on my lower left side that wraps around to lower back. Flu like symtoms for sure. Im 46 and generally very active I work out. But I havent even worked out because Im not sleeping the best during the night. Does anyone know what this lower left pain could be? Thanks in advance.

I had this 2 weeks post UFE. Sounds like you have an infection. I just went to my GP and he tested my wee then gave me antibiotics which got rid of the Flu like symptoms. I had a pain in my right buttock which only today has moved to my upper thigh. It feels less painful now just a bit achy. I managed to take the dog on a 30 min walk. I will be 4 weeks post op tomorrow and now feel almost 100%. So I think it's a case of just waiting. I think it takes a month to recover from this for most women. Good luck right there with you

That is probably part of the healing process, I had pains and my temperature was up and down (mostly below 36 C!) for a few weeks when I had it done.    However, if you are worried, perhaps it is better to phone your GP, or the hospital where they did your operation.  Get well soon.

First of all you should definitely let your doctor know about your symptoms because everyone seem to be different, however, I had a very similar experience to yours. I did UFE at around the same time (Jan 27) and I was more or less fine for the first 5-6 days but then developed a high consistent fever on the 7th day which lasted a week. Doctors thought it was an infection so they put me on antibiotics but it didn't go away. I had fever and chills during the day and very uncomfortable night sweats. I even spent a night at the ER getting antibiotics though IV. At the end doctors thought that most likely I just had an intense case of the post Embolization syndrome. Usually that entails flu like symptoms, low grade fever, etc as the body is reacting to the potentially dead fibroid tissues. In my case because my fibroids were too big my immune system might have had a more intense reaction. For the past week I've been feeling better. I still get low grade fevers at night and I still get the night sweats which I hate but I feel like myself again. From what I've learned, this is a major trauma to the body that should not be taken lightly. Hope you feel better soon!!!!

I experienced all the hot flashes and then the chills on and off my first 2 weeks. The 3rd week I was done with that. Also flu like symptoms and couldn't sleep at night. The lower pain is cm on if it's in your pelvic.

Hi Ladies!  I too had UFE.  My doctor told me it was an infection and the fever was how my body was getting rid of the fibroid tissue.  Mine were mostly out of my uterus.
