Hi guys I've been given Diazapan for the first time for when I feel at my worst... It's not that I have to take it all day but just wanting someone else who has used it to reassure me. Does it help with the negative thinking? Please advise x
Hi Richard
It Does mellow you out. I have had a difficult day and took a 2mg diazepam about an hour ago. I feel relaxed and my anxiety has diminished. It does help me with negative feelings and gives me a short windows of relief. I only use it when I'm really not coping and it honestly helps quickly.
Wishing you a swift recovery
God bless

Thanks lorraine. Do you drive, if so is it a problem?
Hi Richard
I don't drive but it's probably not a good idea. Only because your so relaxed. Are you taking any other meds?

Was on fluoxatine for the past couple of year... start my new Meds on Wed, but at the moment I'm on prescription sleeping tablets...
Hi Richard
The diazepam will really help you over this period. So sorry you have been suffering for so long. Hope your new meds do the trick. What ones you got?
Wishing you well Richard and it would be nice to get updates from you.

Thanks once again lorraine... can you take sleeping tablets if you take a 2mg Diazapan just asking x
Hi Richard
I'm not sure to be honest. My guess is you won't need a sleeping tablet after taking diazepam as it makes you very relaxed and can make you sleepy.
Keep me posted how you are doing

Hi Richard
I checked on the net and responses state not to take sleeping tablets and diazepam together. If you take diazepam it is likely to make you sleepy.
Warmest wishes

Hi Richard,
What dosage have you been given?
If you read the leaflet, you need to take a diazepam and see how it makes you feel before you drive, if you don't feel compromised in any major way and that you can operate normally then you are fine to drive.
This is only if they don't have a major impact on you and only if you are taking no more than your prescribed dose.
I take 2mg and am absolutely fine to drive, my partner takes 2mg and he feels sleepy and doped up, so it's all relative, you need to try one first and see how you react.
Also in regards to sleeping tablets, I'm sure i was prescribed a sleeping tablet whilst taking diazepam but I can't be positive. I would only take a sleeping tablet if you've checked with your dr.
If you're talking about over the counter sleeping tablets (which the majority of are just antihistamines) ask the pharmacist.
When I haven't been sure about drug interaction I've rang my local late night pharmacy and asked the pharmacist for advice.
Let us know how you get on.

Hi there Richard I have been on diazepam for quite a while it really helps with anxiety issues or panic problems. If I have to go outdoors I will take a 5ml diazepam and it stops my anxiety levels rocketing..I have also taken a sleep aid called Zopiclone alongside the diazepam. I would speak with your G.P. I should be taking 15mg each night but only take it if I feel I need to. I would give it a try and hopefully relax a bit. Only you will know how it affects your driving abilities, if in doubt then don,t drive for a day or two. Good Luck I wish you well jx
Zopiclone! That's what I had with the diazepam.
Thought I had had a sleeping aid too but couldn't be sure, thanks for clarifying!
Diazepam really is a wonder drug for panic and anxiety.
