Hiya been taking fluoxetine for 3 weeks. Due to side effects my gp stopped it. Can I still get withdrawl ?
Not sure, I would definately talk to your doctor or pharmacist about it. What ever happens, you will get through it though. If you can, try to keep you focus beyond the rough spot you are going through. Best wishes.
Awww thank you for this reply. Made me feel better❤Doctor doesnt think so but he didnt think I was going to have withdrawl after mirtazapine15mg when he stopped it cold turkey. (I was on it for 3 months). And after 3 weeks its still horrible
It is possible. Your nervous system has been given two different drugs over the last while and it may just take a while to readjust. Plenty of water, gentle exercise seems ro be what others advise. . Hope ypu will feel better in a little while. Can i ask why you were given these at first? Was it for anxiety or depression.
I was on fluoxetine for 7 years before for ocd. Never had side effects. It made me happy. Come off it without problems. Then I was fine for a year. Due to massive stress at work I got anxiety. Been put on mirtazapine 15mg , helped with anxiety but it was making me feel numb and somehow I felt depressed so decided with doctor to try fluoxetine again. Gp stopped mirta cold turkey. Fluoxetine made my anxiety worse. I felt like i was going mad. I lasted on it 3 weeks. Im due to start mirtazapine again on sunday. And since stopping fluoxetine i dont feel as bad. My anxiety is much better. Its still there but my gosh nothing compared to what was happening to me. I know it always gets worse before it gets better but it was too much. Gp told me that sometimes fluoxetine can have this effect on anxiety
