Hi Suza, re:fat content.....when I am selecting products which have 5g full fat per 100g or less this is ok isn't it? Then for one portion do I just take the full fat figure as stated on the box, for example: 5g full fat per 100g then per portion is 1.5g full fat and say 200 calories?
It just takes me a while to get my head around this :?
Thx
Hi, eat nothing over 5g of fat per 100g. If the product is say 3g of fat per 100g, and weighs 300g then that is 9g of fat so that is OK.
Mandy
right hope I've understood you
When shopping it is advised not to buy products over 5g's of Full fat per 100g's of Full fat.
When eating you need to look at the portion/slice/per bar/ per serving with any additional items for example bread = 1.6g's per slice + say dairylea = 1.4g per triangle so total = 3g's.
1 slice of bread = 1.6g's + half a tin of baked beans = 1.1 so total = 2.7g's.
Most items have per 100 as well as 1/2 tin, per triangle etc, I personally don't look at calories.
Thanks very much for the advice, I just needed to check as got myself a little confused.
