Seien Sie sehr vorsichtig bei der Einnahme von Cipro. Es ist sehr gefährlich und Sie riskieren, behindert zu werden! Ich war perfekt gesund, bekam eine Niereninfektion und mir wurde Cipro verschrieben. Drei Tage später konnte ich buchstäblich nicht mehr laufen! Ich war über zwei Jahre bettlägerig. Ich testete positiv auf EBV, rheumatoide Arthritis, habe eine dauerhafte periphere Neuropathie, Rückenprobleme, Nackenprobleme, verlor mein Gedächtnis, meine Beine und Füße schwollen auf das Fünffache der normalen Größe an und ich konnte fünf Monate lang keine Schuhe tragen! Ich konnte mich nicht konzentrieren, verlor meinen Beruf von 32 Jahren, kann kaum noch etwas tun, was ich früher konnte. Ich bin behindert. Ich war bei mindestens 30 verschiedenen Ärzten und Spezialisten und niemand weiß, was mich auseinanderbrechen lässt. Ich habe die gesamte Flasche eingenommen. Es ist seit dem 12. Januar 2014 her und ich bin immer noch behindert. Meine Hände sind an den meisten Tagen unbrauchbar. Meine Beine sind taub, ich falle hin. Es gibt Black-Box-Warnungen bei Cipro. Bitte seien Sie sehr vorsichtig oder sagen Sie Ihrem Arzt, dass Sie etwas anderes wollen! Wenn Sie sich nie von einer Niereninfektion erholt haben, ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit groß, dass Sie durch Cipro vergiftet wurden. Googeln Sie das Fluorchinolon-Toxizitätssyndrom.
I have had 3 different doctors try to prescribe Cipro for me and each time I refused. What is wrong with these doctors???? The evidence out there is so strong that this antibotic is very harmful and should not be given for UTI's and other things where a different drug would work. This is a very scary thing because so many people just trust their doctors and don't check things out. Each time I told the doctor about my concern and the black box warning(s), and they just roll their eyes at me. They don't care...that's what it amounts to. I caution everyone to research throughly all the drugs you are prescribed. Even Nitrofurantoin (macrobid, macrodin) has some serious debilating side effects that may be irreversible. The really scary thing about Cipro is that the damage may not occur until long afte the drug is taken, so just because you finished a course without a problem doesn't mean you won't eventually get one.
DU hast SO RECHT!!! Ich wurde auch gefloxed. Ich bin jetzt behindert. Ich wünschte wirklich, sie würden dieses Medikament nicht verschreiben.

Hi Lori, thanks for posting this warning. I guess you're from the US where at least you do have black box warnings. Here in the UK we're struggling to get our Medicines Agency (MHRA) to recognise that this group of antibiotics are very dangerous. When the FDA announced last July that they were restricting what Cipro etc should be used for we hoped that Europe and the UK would get the message but no - they have to do their own investigations! As Marilee says - what is wrong with these doctors?!
I think what's wrong is the amount of money BIg Pharma pump into promoting their drugs. They spend a fortune on persuading docs that Fluoroquinolones and other 'questionable' drugs are actually fine and the docs jst take the money and keep prescribing them, ignoring the patients whose lives they've just ruined.
Please, everyone, be aware that this Flluoroquinolone group isn't just Cipro, it includes Levo, Avelox, and other names (which are different in the UK!). Always check with your doctor/pharmacist if an antibiotic is actually a Fluoroquinolone.
