Hi
I asked for advice on here some time ago. Long story short. I started with pain in both shoulders in April left worse than right. Had ultrasound which showed bursitis in right so GP gave 2 steroid injections in left assuming left was bursitis also but didn't show on ultrasound, both injections failed and left arm is imprinted with muscle loss, go sent me for mri last Sunday and results have showed a crack in the bone with fluid so I'm off to urgent appointment with fracture clinic tomorrow morning. Anyone had this as I am wondering what may happen at fracture clinic please
Oh my gosh how on earth did you fracture your arm without knowing?? I would assume at clinic they will investigate?? It may well turn into fs........Mine was and is full blown fs - hoping for surgery again soon. Good luck with fracture clinic hope they sort you out quickly
Thanks Linda
The only injury I recall was a twisted arm which caused a soft tissue injury to forearm. Pain started in both shoulders though but left predominantly worse then it imprinted and started to look ' odd' that's when GP sent me for mri especially after 2 unsuccessfully steroid injections for bursitis
Oh right! Let us know how you get on..........you do get a lot of muscle wastage with fs & it takes a long time to build it back up - it left my dominate arm very weak for a long time and even now 2years later I have very little strength in it
Hi
I have had a fractured humorous but haven't got a clue how I did it, big possibility of osteoporosis I also have fluid and arthritis in tip of shoulder to clavicle and frozen shoulder so now need a referral to a surgeon as fracture clinic doctor explained they are for new fractures not chronic injuries?
Oh my goodness! I hope they are investigating everything? Such a worry
for you
And you have the additional worry & pain from the dreaded
frozen shoulder
Hope they sort you out soon. Where are you?
I'm in the UK and quite lucky that I'm seeing a consultant on the 24th
August (only went to GP today) so hoping for surgery soon after 24th
Hi
I'm in norheast . I've spoken to GP secretary and she seemed genuinely shocked that the fracture clinic asked to to get GP to refer me to surgeon but she was going to speak to GP and get this arranged urgently. I know how slow nhs can be especially here in Stockton on tees are but really hoping something will be done and soon. I'm in extreme pain can't sleep
Awww huni I can sympathise with your pain and inability to sleep........such a vile little understood condition
I hope you get sorted asap! Pain med wise you have to try a few to get the right combination - thats what I found and even then there are times that nothing helps with the pain........It does ease eventually it just takes time I'm afraid
Thanks Linda
Really hope i can get this pain under control.
