At last i have been called today and offered a date for my operation which will be the 19th May, i will be having an MUA and ASD cannot wait...... i'm praying that this will be the start of my recovery as to be honest nothing can be worse than this pain........ fingers crossed it works!!
All the best. What is MUA and ASD.
I am going to have hydrodilation on 18th May.
I hope it goes well and wish you a pain free future , I've just had my medication upgraded to stronger pain killers , the doctor has sent a fax to orthopaedic consultant marked urgent , so hopefully my turn will come soon ...
Not long to wait then Kim, you will feel a lot better after the op...I had mua and arthroscopic release I dont know what ASD is but if its like mine it worked really well.
Good luck and I have my fingers crossed for you! xxxx
Thanks Cheryl, the ASD is just the cutting of the ligaments and shaving the bone........glad you are better, have you got most of your movement back? how long ago did you have your op?
To be honest i got my orthopaedic appointment last week and he called today to say i have my pre-op tomoorw and surgery on the 19th so really lucky, i have only really been in pain since January but to be honest i'm getting to the point of it starting to really effect work and home life. Good luck and make sure you really push for the appointment, i kept phoning the hosiptal each week whilst waiting for my appointments, think they got fed up of me but it really gets you down. Hope your wait is short like mine..
Hi Alison, I am having manipulation, capsular release with rotar cuff repair and ASD which is shving the bone spur and cutting the ligaments so fingers crossed..... what is hydrodilation??
Had it 13th February and now have 90% movement back...only sticking point is the internal and external rotation (you will soon know all about this) which hurts when the physio moves it into that position, apparently it is the last thing to get back. Pain wise still get the odd twinge and shoulders are a little stiff, especially in the mornings, but no meds and am able to live a totally normal life. I am going swimming for the first time in 7 months with the kids at the weekend which hopefully will loosen me up a bit more. So life is good Kim, and yours will be too very soon xxx
Hi Kim this is exactly what I had on 9th Feb & to be honest I was still in a lot of pain afterwards with very little improvement in movements Very frustrating
They upped my physio but still little or no improvement so my consultant took me back to theatre and did further MUA with steroid injection. WOW!!! The improvement is AMAZING!!!! Pain has eased soooooo much & my movements are brilliant - I can now lift my arm up (with the help of my other arm) I see improvement every day
I have come through this!!!! Yay there is light at the end of this very long tunnel - I have been very depressed because of this nightmare - ish condition & now suddenly I am alive again
So good luck my fs friend Let us all know how you get on
Gentle hugs xx
Oh sorry Kim my first operation was on 9th Feb & 2nd op was on 20th April
Great news Kim.....you will be on the road to recovery before you know it. I am now 5 weeks post op.....rotator cuff tear repair. Still sleeping in Recliner....but it is soooooo comfortable I may never go back to a bed....lol
one more week of sling and then hopefully some intense physio to get some range back again.
hope all goes fantastically well with your op.
sending gentle hugs to you 😘❌❌❌
