Hi all- I’ve been on Gabapentin for years now, both to target my back pain and also to help quell anxiety.
I got pregnant in 2019 and had my baby early 2020. Ever since her birth, Gabapentin has caused a mild mania. I’ve also been on and off other medications, but I know that it’s the Gabapentin because I take it PRN (as needed) and I get the effect only after taking it.
I don’t expect an expert opinion, but I can’t seem to find anything on the internet searches about gaba making a person manic.. in fact, it’s a (very) mild sedative. I take 300 mg PRN.
I am also on Wellbutrin 450 mg, Ativan .5 PRN, Vraylar 25mg (evening), and Baclofen (muscle relaxer PRN)
Has anyone experience this effect from Gabapentin? Is it reasonable to assume pregnancy and birth has changed my chemistry such that a drug could work differently? (Along the same lines, now, coffee products make me unbearably sleepy whereas they used to caffienate me)
