Gabapentin withdrawal and depression

After being off Gabapentin for over a month, I have been experiencing anger, flat effect, and numbing depression. Does anyone else experience these? I see the hope from postings here that I will recover, but there are times I just feel my "gabapentin brain" is beyond repair. Thank you in advance. Namaste.

Shelley. I would love to hear reports from people that find Gabapentin is good and without all the side effects. I found it wonderful for one week then it went downhill.

Any good reports please !!!

I have been on gabapentin for over two years for non-diabetic neuropathy.  My main symptom is a severe burning sensation in my feet.  I am older and sensitive to medications, but have encountered no problems with the gabapentin.  It does bring relief.  After reading so many negative comments about the drug, I am concerned.  I currently take 300 mg. three times a day.  If the burning pain is worst on a particular day, I will add 300 mg.  I also use a cooling pad at bedtime- which I store in the refrigerator - which also helps.  My doctor feels gabapentin is a wonderful and safe drug, and even encourages me to up my dosages, which I will not do.  I am sorry that so many of you have encountered so major problems and side effects with gabapentin.  I wish more drugs were available to help us!

Shelley,

I have been off for 9 days and I have anger and depression also!! My depression was so much worse when I was on it!! I cried all the time!! That has gotten better! Sometimes I feel my anger is from feeling the way I do and the dr being no help!! If you are going through what I am from withdrawals I can see where anger can come in!! Although everyone is different you are not alone in these feelings!!! I wish you well this is one BAD drug in my opinion!!!!

Hi Shelley....have you weaned yourself off the Gabapentin under you doctors blessing by that I mean coming off them slowly ?
