GAD/Personality Disorder treatment options.

I am currently taking 200mg Pregabalin daily and also Duloxetine x 3 25mg daily but still get significant anxiety symptoms, so I usually need to take 2x2mg Diazepam as well. My doctor won't prescribe the diazepam long term, due to addiction issues, but both Pregabalin (which he wants me to increase) and duloxetine, have significant issues as regards withdrawal symptoms/problems and significant side effects. I've read many horror stories online concerning both drugs so I am very concerned about their long term effects on me. I'd like to know whether anyone has been prescribed long term diazepam or similar benzodiazepines for anxiety, and if so whether there have been any problems with them. Also, if anyone else takes Pregabalin and or Duloxetine, have you had problems with withdrawal and side effects? Thank you.

Hello! I am on 2x 300mg pregabalin and 120 mg duloxetine, and I have had instances where I had to go without pregabalin for a few days and it was horrible. My body itched, I felt hot and clammy, anxiety was buzzing around etc, but I am of the belief that getting of them at some point, it will be slower, and my mental health better. I don't know what it actually feels like to get off them though, so I'm just following this discussion (:

Get rid of them all diet and exercise everyday

I was on pregabalin for a few years and they caused me problems when my dosage was increased so I came off them slowly without too many problems. I went on to sertra line which weren't mich good .now I'm on mirtazapine which at the moment seem to be working although I do still get bouts of anxiety.

Hi, Elizabeth, I have been taking xanax 0.5 three times daily for 30 years, started off with 0.25 three times daily, so I have doubled the dose in 30 years, never done me any harm, though they are addictive, but so is those other meds you mentioned, I was offered .pregablin ,we call it lyrica here, but I refused it, my neice was on it and it made her very agressive, she had to stop them, the Duloxetine is a good med, if it works for you, but again it has side effects, I cant understand, why, you are taking both..? its very hard to get a GP to give you Diazapam, long term, but they wont do you any harm...x

what dose are you on

I'm on 15 mg of mirtazapine
