I have had gallbladder surgery, nearly 4 weeks ago & before surgery I had morphine in my drip before surgery finished as I came out of recovery, I was awake straight away talking no sore throat no nausea, no giddiness, 2 level of pain, had a yummy coffee from cafe & brownie & showered & wasn’t really tired & everyone had said u be really really really tired & I was on a high
but not so much that I can’t remember
it was good but different as my friends had said u be sleeping lots
anyone ever had this happen

HI Wendy. I had gall bladder surgery in July 2018. same as you discomfort but no pain. Three hours later sent home with a mountain of painkillers - never needed any pain relief so returned them to hospital. No problems at all . But I did rest up for a couple of weeks to give myself time to heal. never did anything strenuous and definitely no lifting. However I still developed a hernia at the naval which although not painful is horrible to look at.
Hi Wendy:. i had gallbladder surgery in 2017 in February. i woke up from surgery around 11:00 am and ate something and of course automatically got sick from the anestecia, then fell back to sleep and woke up at 1:30 hungry and thirsty. i had a can of apple juice and some cookies, then after that, My day surgery nurse had me get up and walk around to make sure i was ready to go home. After that they came and took the iv out of me and i got dressed and was given some pain killers, and was sent home and had to have a tim hortons coffee and something to eat. I was wide awake til around 11:45 pm. Then fell asleep and all i can remember is my roommate coming home from work and coming into my room and turning my tv and lamp off. i only had a bit discomfort. i just had to rest up for a few weeks.
wow, you were fortunate indeed; my experience was the exact opposite.
I would say though, you must remember you’ve had surgery so although you feel absolutely fine, and that’s so positive, I would still recommend you allow your body its healing time - as boring as that might sound.
