It’s been now 2 months since diagnosed with gallstones now waiting for my mri scan next week. My consultant said might be looking at an underlying illness which has got me worried. But will be getting my gallbladder removed hopefully soon. But I just don’t have pain in my right side I also have pain on my left side near my ribs for two months that’s a concern to me.

I had my gallbladder removed 8 months ago and now thankfully fully recovered. When I used to experience gallbladder attacks the pain always started under my right rib cage and then felt like my upper abdomen was being squeezed and gripped, extending through to the left and into by back and shoulder blade. Perhaps this is what you are experiencing?
I would not worry too much, easier said than done I know, but your consultant sounds to be thorough, and is obviously looking to find out if there is an underlying reason that stones are being formed.
