Generics all the same?

I've taken 125 mg Zoloft brand name for a LONG time.  Generics arrived so I tried them. I had to bump the Sertraline to 150 mg.  I've been doing great for years and years. Suddenly, the pharmacist switched manufacturers for Sertraline.  The pill is round instead of oval.  I've been taking new Sertraline for about 1 1/2 months, and I really believe there is something different.  I've noticed I'm edgy and frustrated and have bad thoughts for the past month or so. I've been taking Zoloft or Sertraline for 20+ years, so I'm pretty in tune with which of my feelings are justifiable and which are not.  These feelings do not seem justifiable since nothing in particular is happening in my life.  How can I verify that the generic manufacturers are using EXACTLY the same formula?  Even a dye can cause different reactions in different people.

I have had this happen to me and I tried to request the brand name through my doctors office and pharmacy . They might be able to get it approved for you since you’re having problems all of sudden on a generic. Most doctors will tell you it is the exact same but I had one doctor tell me even tho it is the same drug it is made differently and like you said even the smallest things can cause a different reaction. I had the same thing happen with a birth control I was taking for 2 years and they switched to the generic and all of a sudden I have break through bleeding, etc.
