Hi, I've suffered from anxiety for nearly 2 years and it's just getting worse. I started with health anxiety now it's with everything taking over everything I do. I'm going to menorca on Sunday and I'm so worried, I haven't been before and I'm worried about what it's going to be like how I will be away from home. This week I've had migraines, chest pains, nausea, sweating. I'm on 10mg of citalopram, the GP wants me to go back on propranolol but I don't want to. I asked for diazepam to get me through the next few days but she refused.
Can anybody suggest anything else I can try?
Hi hun I have health anxiety too mines mainly my heart I'm 22 and I'm constantly having chest pain palpitations etc I was on propranolol but came off them when I finally convinced myself it was anxiety even tho I kinda don't
I know how u feel with been scared of going on holiday I'm going on holiday end of June I'm looking forward to it but I'm scared in case I have a "heart attack"
what I have found works a treat in calming u down is something called rescue remedy it's all natural and is suprisingly good at calming u down and u can use it as much as u want u can buy it from like boots and pharmacies and places like that u could buy some and keep it in ur bag for the plane before u get on, it also comes in chewing gum and lozenges and spray so it's ideal for your bag
hope it helps hun and try and use the holiday to relax and enjoy yourself I know it's hard and I'm going to be the same but don't let it ruin ur holiday hun your better than that hope it helps feel free to message me if u need to talk
Laura x
Thanks Laura, I was thinking of trying that. I keep telling myself to stop worrying but it doesn't sink in x
Amy,
try lying in bed tonight, get comfy and relax then think about it all from a positive perspective. Picture yourself ready and waiting to go to the airport all excited, picture yourself checking in and absorbing all the positive and excited feelings from those around you, on the plane that wonderful view, arriving in a new place with the sun beating down, the sights on the way to the hotel. For every negative thought your having now each has an opposite positive, so when a negative pops up flip it. Take time to relax, meditate and remember your going there to relax, why wait, start your holiday early
stay strong and have a lovely time
David
Yeah try it hun it's really good I didn't believe it would do any food at first but it does it really calms u down and I know how you feel what about if u keep looking at pictures of your holiday to try and relax u I really do know how u feel tho I have even looked where the nearest hospital is when I go on holiday it's a joke I can't help it I just feel im going to drop dead any minute give that rescue remedy a go see how u get on

Thank you this is a good idea I will try it.
Don't be putting ideas in to my head about hospitals lol x
Haha I'm sorry lol honestly hun try the rescue remedy I'm panicking now because iv just laid in bed and now all of a sudden I have strong palpitations and my heart is beating really slow and underneath my left breast area it feels like a real strong ache I'm svared to go to sleep in case I don't wake up my partner is snoring away and I'm sat on thr edge of the bed iv had to sit upright because it seriously feels like my heart is going to stop I feel sick with worry
nothing doesn't feel real I can hear everything but my heart is really worrying me it's usually pounding and now it's extremely slow I actually think I'm about to pass out any minute I'm so so scared
x
How are u now? I get the pain in my left breast doctor wasn't worried about it so must just be anxiety, but very worrying x
Try a reiki treatment before going on holidays, I find this very helpful.
I would also ask the doctor for some xanax or valium and tell her you NEED them to get through the flight over and back, I know they usually give them out for flights
Laura,
Do you know if you can take rescue remedy if on medication? I'm on citalopram, but had a really, really bad today with yet another health anxiety. Thanks
Does Valium knock you out? I have a 3 year old.
I don't think Valium knocks you out, my doctor gave me them for flying and he knew I had two young children. My doctor told me me to start taking them A few daysI before I flew to make sure that they didn't have an adverse effect on me, I forgot to do that so I ended up not taking them.
I'm on citalopram and I've taken 2 beta-blockers for the last 2 days. Bought some rescue remedy it's herbal so fine with citalopram I asked the pharmacist. I put 4 drops on my tongue not sure if it worked, but going to take it on holiday.
Doctor refused diazepam is that the same?
If you get a low dose it wouldnt, just try the lowest one possible which I think is .25mg
Diazepam would be a relaxant and there all in the same family
