Good luck JeanW. I expect you are busy getting your hubby settled today and I seem to remember that you are checking in to the hospital a day earlier than I am. I will be thinking of you next week and look forward to hearing how you are doing, as we recover together.
Take care.
Lorraine.
Good luck to you all having your op next week.....in no time at all you'll be walking pain and limp free!
chris
hope all goes well, am sure you will be fine x
Thank you, I hope so. Will check back in as soon as I can. I hope to take my lap top with me, but not sure if thats allowed.
Hi Lynn, how are you getting on now ? Are things starting to become a little easier ? I hope so ! Just think another few weeks and you will be feeling brand new ( well almost !! ) hoe this finds you well. Love Maggie xxxxx
Thankyou for the good wishes xx Yesterday I took hubby to the home and spent the afternoon settling him in. He wasnt too happy but accepts it has to be done. He has just rang and they messed his medication this morning (He has Parkinsons and its important to get them right) and also his bed is only a single and he nearly fell out twice in the night as he is restless, but apart from that he is fine lol.
I have kept myself busy all morning, doing all the washing and cleaning, just settling now to a cuppa and waiting for my friend to pick me up and take me in. I have just rang the hospital to confirm they have a bed and have been told yes! yippeee. On my way! will get back when I can and good luck to you too Lorraine xxxx
Hi Lorraine - hope you are doing ok x. My news is fairly positive so far. I had the spinal with music blaring in my ears and it worked well. Everyone was lovely. Apparently I had a dip and lost a lot of blood, or juice as my surgeon said lol and a further drop in blood pressure when back on the ward which worried them slightly .
the only weird thing during the op was hearing the hammer and drill at work lol - now 9 hours since back on the ward, I have eaten at mealtime, although a bit picky and am just getting a bit of pain round the wound. All in all positive so far.
Hi Lorraine
Hope things are going well with you
Thinbking about you
Love
Eileen
Hi Eileen,
Thank you for thinking of me, my stupid internet has been down. My surgery went really well, I am home and on day 5, not taking pain killer during the day as I really don't need them, but am taking a pretty strong narcotic an hour before bedtime and I sleep like a baby. Think I will just take half tonight. I am so happy not to be in the terrible pain I was pre surgery. My first walk to the nurses station was the first time in over a year I had walked weithout the awful pain, I broke down in tears, they were tears of happiness. I use to lay in bed not wanting to get up in the mornings, but now I am looking forward to a happy future. Thank you so much for your support. Lorraine.
Hi Lorraine
I so pleased to hear such a postive post
No pain killers during the day....thats fantastic

Hi maggie, well still here in rehab it was 4 weeks last friday, I thought i was going home on saturday, but Dr said no, he want my extensions yo be better!!!!! said my muscules are getting there, but was dissapointed but they know best!! so one more week, but hubby came in the camper van and stayed over night so willl see him today as well, I can cope during the week as mornings start at 7.30 with injection , breakfast than dressed and down for Pt at 9 , 9.30 massage and suction on my scar, 10.30 meditation class, 12 noon lunch then rest until 2 then down for pool therapy (hydro) for 1 hour rest on bed until 7 down for dinner, then back to bed with ice, so pretty much a busy day. I cant wait yo go home, but i was vertually wheelchair bou d for 2/3 years before, i could walk arou d the house and maybe 100 mtrs outside but couldnt go anywhere, now I can walk arpund supermarket.... ypeee. How are you? take care big hug xx
Hi Lynn, wow your days sound really busy !! You are really lucky to be getting so much re-hab. In Scotland we are fast tracked and usually out of hospital and straight home within two or three days. The only physio we get is a piece of A4 paper with exercises to do at home. I believe the district nurse comes in a couple of times over two weeks but that is just to check wound then afew days later remove stitches !!! I am still waiting for appointment date and getting a bit cheesed off now !!! However they promised I would have date by 2nd sept so fingers crossed. Both hips are really bad now and I have had several falls so I am going to try and push my surgeon to do the double THR. I have spoken to afew people now who have had it done and they have had amazing results, so we will just have to wait and see. So glad to hear you are doing so well, just think how terrified you were 4 weeks or so ago !! And now you are doing brilliantly. Good for you !! Keep up the good work and look forward to getting home and a better life. Great to hear from you ,lots of love and hugs Maggie xxxxxx
Hi Maggie
I quite agree about the fast track and out in 2 or 3 days
I cant complain about the treatment.
I'm in the North East.
Good luck to you as well....hope you get your appointment soon
I've never spoken to anyone who has had both done at once
I dont know what it would be like.....I've had both done but they were seperate operations so like I say Good Luck
Love
Eileen
