Hello I also have fibroids doctor told me that it is like a grapefruit size and I have maybe 5 of them but the biggest is like grapefruit size already. I want to do naturally to shrink my fibroids as I can. I was wondering if it is still possible to do natural or go surgery. Thank you
Esmya is supposed to help prepare and shrink fibroids prior to a procedure, it stopped my periods for 3 months. However, I did have a few side effects, such as mild hot sweat, the benefit far outweighed the inconvenience.
The periods which followed were worse though, not sure if this was natures way, or because of the tablet intefering?.
I had my outpatient appointment yesterday and my uterus has shrunk after my UAE, periods are back to how they were when I was 14, I am now 46, best thing I did. My journey has been a 2 and a half year one, and I am pleased to say I have managed to avoid a hysterectomy. However, I had got to the stage of opting for one, my quality of life was non exsistent.
I had the confidence to challenge the consultant, get a private referral which I paid for, then my treatment was on the NHS, but out of area, a small price to pay when I reflect now.
I also have a grapefruit size fibroid which I'm trying to shrink naturally. I have cut out red meat and dairy and eat a lot of lentils, spinach and
broccoli and will start taking milk thistle and exercise more. All these
things I have read reduce the amount of oestrogen which fibroids feed on. Hope this helps.
agree with PY about cutting out al those things, there is a book called the anti estrogenic diet which can give you some guidence. I did go down this route first, but it did not work for me and they grew. I am now on Esyma with view of having open myomectomy in the near future.
Like Valerie says, quality of life with the fibs was awful, my periods were so bad i needed a blood transfusion, so hoping the surgery to remove the fibs will make my periods back to normal and get my flat stomach back
