**i started to notice symptoms 2 weeks ago today, they started as what i thought was an ingrown hair (i had 1 just a few days before) so i figured it was the same. It was lower down where i couldnt see very well and had slight pain when i touched the area.

Day 2 it turned into multiple tiny red bumps 15-20 that i could count.

Day 3, they got slightly bigger and more pain when touched. By this point i thought if their ingrown hairs (and in such an unsual spot) They would have started to go away by now

Day 4 it had gotten alot worse. They started to turn white some with a black center. More painful mostly when sitting. I went to urgent care the morning of the 4th day. She did say possibly hsv, but there were thing that made her thing not as well. Also mentioned shingles but not a common area to get them. I was prescribed acyclovior, and clindimaycin. I also noticed it starting to spread into my thigh area, almsot double the amount of bumps as the first time! I started both medications on the 5th day.

By day 6 they started to itch, more pain when walking just an all around uncomfortable feeling.

Day 7 and 8 were followed by same symptoms. But it did not get worse and the spreading stopped before the bumps got any worse or spread any further.

I would say by day 9 I finally started to feel some hope.
I also went to my local clinic on the 8th day and was checked for every std possible as well as a vaginal exam. I took a urine test, culture, blood test, and mouth swab. Tested negative for hiv that day. She said to me either hsv, or syphilis. But an std forsure… ive lost all hope by this point. I also didnt mention ive been married for 8 years and have had no other sexual partners so this comes as an absolute shock to** me. 2 days after i got the results back, they were negative for EVERYTHING.
How does this make any sense? my culture as well as blood test came back negative for both types of hsv.

Sores continually got better, scabbed by day 10. Seen my gyno on day 11. She as well said possibly hsv but there could be ****many other possible causes as well. She did a pap on me and culture swab of the sores. That test came back negative for hsv as well. As well as negative for everything else they test for in a pap except did come back positive for vagititis?
But from what ive loooked up that doesnt cause these sores?

im very scared and now more confused then i was to begin with! If anyone has had similar issues or symptoms and can help shed some light i would appreciate it so much!!

u should wait a couple more months and retest again for herpes by blood to see if theres any change in reults shingles is not common there but not impossible so shouldnt be ruled out

i really hope so, i know day 1-3 look like hsv no doubt, but day 4 and on is where it got strange. I also cant find 1 picture on the internet that look similiar to mine.

i would have thought at least the swabs would hav come back positive as there quite reliable

Definitley my thinking as well. And i had 2 different swabs taken at 2 different places. Although they were taken on day 8 and 10. What ive read there most accurate in the first 48 hrs but after day 5 it goes down drastically on if the results come back correct or not. But its aso hard for me to believe 2 cultures and a blood test all come back negative and that be what it is. So just trying to figure out all other options now, im going to talk to my doctor next week about shingles when i go in for a check up

Hi there, I've just gone down a rabbit hole looking for an explanation for a shingles like, but not shingles outbreak I've been dealing with. My wife of 13 years had a similar outbreak to yours a couple of years ago on her mouth and around her vagina with blisters/scabs which grew and spread and apparently very painful and she felt a little unwell. I'll admit I was insecure and suspicious! All tests brought no explanation and negative. 12 months later going on a business trip OS and she gets the familiar feeling again like its coming on again in the same areas. She had just taken a pill for a yeast infection then remember that's what shed done the last time this happened. From memory she'd used these drugs in the past without issue. Turns out it was likely an allergic reaction! She hasn't had an issue since. Hope that helps someone!
