Growth on the side of penis corpus

hello, I had this problem for approx a month now and it's not getting better. At first it was just small lump but now it has grown much bigger and it's not getting better. That "lump" first appeared more then 3 months after last sexual intercourse so I don't think i got it from last girl. I am 21 years old and never had problems like this before. Can someone please help me, should I be worried, is it safe to have unprotected sex, should I visit doctor?

Dear zach,

This appears to be a small genital wart (HPV infection), which is a viral STD. You need, at some point, to see a doctor to get some treatment and tests for other STDs. Treatment is not urgent so wait until lockdown restrictions ease.

Rgds,
Adhari

thanks for reply Adhari, can you please help me with another question, how is it possible that person gets HPV (without having sex)

Hi. What you have in your skin looks very similar to a wart caused by HPV. You will need to get tested for other STI when you can and avoid intercourse as it can easily spread to your partner.

The incubation period (time from you get in contact with the disease to actually produce a disease) for a wart can be anything between 2 weeks to 8 months. Most people report warts appearing in 2-4 months after sexual intercourse without protection.

thanks, that helps a lot
