I have had a pain in my calf since yesterday, I have just been to the Doctors and she is referring me to the hospital for a blood test for dvt. She told me to take a book as I have to wait for the results. If positive I will have to have a scan and probably go onto warfarin for 3 months. If negative they will probably just up my clexane for a while longer. Not a happy bunny at the moment as everything was going so well, but hey ho can't be good all the way can it?. It seems that this is a non day anyway, my sister and brother in law were coming over for a bbq and to put some plants in the garden. They rang earlier to say they have a flat tyre and kwik fit can't get there until 4pm. They have to use kwik fit as they have a mobility car. So looks like we have to have a bbq for 2 days as all the stuff is defrosted in the fridge.......... what a day........ will let you know how I get on.

I am so sorry though to hear of the pain in your calf -- could be anything right - it is good to know hat your doctor is thorough and wants uyou to have it checked right away ... I am a believer in the planets, gillcat, and boy, it has been and still is pretty intense ...very typical what happened with your sister and her husband ... but hey, this all shall pass as the saying goes - I know you will keep your self entertained while waiting for the result !!! big and warm hug and let us know about the out come .....
IM STILL PRE OP AND HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING YOUR PROGRESS partly because the name I wanted was jellycat -very similliar to yours but it was taken but also because you are always so positive. I am sorry to hear of this setback and I hope all goes well and that you have areally good book.
hey renee, i heard that too about mercury being in retrograde and electrical faults etc but also heard that there is a change today. Im hoping the chnge reduces my raised blod pressure as my op may be postponed until bp has come down. Going on 24 hour monitor tomorrow.

I am sorry you are going through all this. May I say that I have had many many doppler scans in the last couple of years and they never found anything. I hope for you it will be the same and just nothing to worry about. Keep thinking positive.
First of all is your calf red or hot to touch ?
Are your toes very pale or your foot very cold?
If not you probably have nothing to worry about.
Either way enjoy your BBQ
If you phone your GP surgery they can arrange hospital transport for you and you can find your way home when the tyre is fixed on the car. You can't wait incase it is a clot and it breaks off and goes to your heart or lungs.

so sorry to hear this. tho we bicker about all hospitals using different strategies to do things, all very very aware it seems of risk of DVT, but you're the first person I've heard saying it may be true of you, despite how careful you have been.

It's ok Hailea it's not our car that has a flat tyre it my Brother in laws. They were coming over to us today for a bbq lol. I'm hoping it's nothing just don't like sitting around waiting would rather get on with it lol. xx
The vein in my left calf (operated side ) is very tender thats why she is sending me to the hospital. Fingers crossed, I had to vent steam and I knew all of you on here would understand. I'm impatient and don't like playing the waiting game. xx
Oh phew glad you can get to the hospital ok then. Yeah I know what you mean about waiting. When you get to the hospital make sure you tell them when your Op was and there is a chance of DVT and tell them how long you have had the pain they will sort you out much quicker because it is a threat to your life. When I went I explained and they had me in and out of there and scanned in 2 hours. I hope you don't have to wait too long. Let us know if your ok once you are home. WELL.......... would you believe it the hospital has given me an appointment of 12 noon tomorrow...... is the risk of dvt serious or a joke???? I've had this since Monday evening ... so 3 days later they will see me.

I'm fine really Mark just doing so well and this has really bugged me I'll have the last laugh they have to get blood out me yet, and boy they don't know what they are in for.
gillcat go to A & E it is life threattening. Explain everything and you will get seen. You need to get there before 5 pm and they close the x ray dept down for the night.
I had the same at 1 week - several hours in AE but blood test was negative.

If it gets worse I would go to AE, 'cos the sooner diagnosed the better. Hope it is a false alarm.
