Crutches , walker, drop me by the door and then park . All going well
.., but on the way back from the pub the bus dropped us half a mile short of the hotel ! No taxis about in an area we do not know well . Late at night and dark and freezing cold so no other option than to just walk ! Like a snail very slowly ! It was not so much pain as more like a Duracell bunny running down .. My leg just seemed to stiffen and moved less and less . Made it to the hotel and knew I would suffer ... Took pain killers and woke up in the night in pain and stiff as a board and useless today ... But I did it ! Moral of this take is don't rely on buses when your 4 weeks into a THR ... 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Oh Hazel, I feel your pain ... so awful when your batteries are failing, it's cold and dark, and you just know wou would be able to so it so much easier a few years ago. At least no harm done (I hope), and you did it with style. in time, your batteries will be fully recharged and you'll be able to cover that ground in no time.
Big pat on the back for completing your personal 'marathon'.
Glad you made it back! I too learnt a lesson, don't walk so far as you are worried about making it back! In reality not so far, but the walk back was angsty!
Glad you made it Hazel, sounds like a painful adventure, but you did it. I'm at 12 weeks RTHR all I can tell you is in a couple of weeks you'll be a lot better and another month you'll be able to walk that 1/2 mile no problem.
Yes but I have felt crap ever since Judith. Got a bad chesty cough , no energy or inclination to do anything , hip aches and feel weak as a kitten . Must be a virus as on top of the hip I feel awful and my get up and go has got up and gone .hope it goes soon as this is my 5 Th week
...
On the plus side I can walk about briefly in the house unaided .
