Hi im in the menopause and i dont know if it is because of that or the fact i take a lot of strong pain killers due to my ongoing back problem thats another story i have noticed that my hair is coming out every time i put my fingers through my hair an handfull comes out not in tufts but as if it as been loosened i know this sounds silly but its the only way i know how to descripe it as anyone else suffered this and what did you do about it if it carry;s on i'llneed a wig hope you can help.
I had this until I started on HRT. The drain in our shower was practically blocked because of my hair loss. Unfortunately it took 4 different types until I settled on the one that was right for me! I do feel a lot better now and my hair loss has settled down and I'm pretty much back to normal. Wish I could say the same for the weight gain though!
I had thinning hair when I first started with the menopause, then was on Tibolone for 12 months, and had lovely thick hair again. Doc took me off the HRT and my hair's thinning again. Can't say I've noticed it actually falling out, but it's noticeably thinner. Going to hairdresser's next week to have blonde highlights and a shorter, layered cut in the vain hope it looks better! 8)
I am suffering from alopecia, and am considering purchasing a human hair wig.
I have looked at some clinics online, but have had no recommendations so far - does anyone know of anywhere in particular from positive experiences?
Thanks all.
