Has anyone been on Escitalopram?

Hi everybody,

I don't know if anyone has been on Escitalopram. I went today to my doctor and he prescribed me escitalopram and Trimipramin.He said that is not just anxiety but also depression. I am afraid of Meds and their side effects,and afraid of using them forever.

I started about 3 weeks ago and feeling much better - except my libido has died and can not live this way - so back to the drawing board for me. Has hugely helped mood - energy - enthusiasm so hope it helps xhen

Perhaps slightly dry mouth - but nothing else / all great bar the libido I am only on 10 mg very low dose.

My doctor prescribed me 20 mg 😲.

i have been on it for 4 months. After side effects at 10mg for about 6 weeks i had 3 great months, however, i crashed a few weeks ago and now moved up to 20mg. It is supposed to be a very good drug

fir first few weeks a hightened anxiety and nausea, they passed though and all was great

I used it for about two weeks, it diminished my libido greatly. It also causes heightened anxiety at first. Also it was very intoxocating to me, not quite to the degree benzos can be, but similar. This was not a common side effect according to my doctor, and i switched to citalopram and did not have any pleasurable, intoxicating effects. The libido thing makes it a no go for me.
