I have been recently diagnosed with Hashimoto and starting taking 25mg of Tirosint for 2 wks now. The past few days I am noticing what looks like a Heat rash on my arms, chest, back and legs when I workout. Once I cool off the rash goes away. Is this normal for having Hashimoto? Is it due to the meds?
I feel you google "tirosint rash" you will find some anecdotal evidence the it can cause a rash in some people. Hope this helps.
A rash is a bad reaction to the meds, however my rash only comes out when I am working out or over heated then goes away. I'll have to call my dr tomorrow just to be on the safe side
Hi,
I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and a complete thyroidectomy. Tirosint is one of the most purest (no dyes or fillers) form of levothyoxine on the market. That being said, it took a while for my body to adjust to the med and it triggered my raynauds for a couple of months before it calmed down. I am doing very well on the med now. Talk to your endocrinologist but it may be an adjustment period.
