Has anyone tried TMS for pain relief

Hi Meg Ive just found it and read up on it, I suddenly remembered my mother in law has had it done she had severe depression. it helped her her depression has gone. it mentioned it can cause memory loss I had to laugh at that bit. I thought well that wouldnt matter already have that. hope your having a good day meg take care hun xx

It makes sense to me,been there myself. Being in pain constantly is very tiring, that is part of the fatigue problem. I am sorry to hear nothing is helping, you shouldn't be in so much pain it is not fair.

I guess I am lucky for now as I take a low dose of Lyrica which seems to help cut out those days of intense pain and help me sleep. Still searching for something better however.

I think they use it in different ways for different conditions, I read about how they use it to help people improve their memory. I think it depends on what parts of they brain they use the stimulation on.

Gosh kaz...  I so hope you can work through those Nightmares...  Just remember that life is precious no matter what.  As long as you love 'yourself and your kids', your dad will love you 10 times now. Back then attitudes were shocking..and folk would put crap on others shoulders.  Just try turning those negatives into positives, practice it everytime you think of those comments your mum made...  And remember they were 'her words, from her own personal space, and not your fathers'...  Life is for the living, and it's best to make that as positive as one can..  and your not the only one to have had a child or more out of wedlock. I had one... and a piece of paper doesn't make my childs life any the less full, valuable or loved as any other born in wedlock.

Try not to let your mums 'attitude' get to you...  Bless ya, and big Hugs.

You definitely have unresolved issues going on there, please ask for help to get them resolved. Be kind to yourself you are a great person.

We all live our lives the best way we can, please don!t judge us just appreciate the people we are. This should be our mantra when we are confronted by judgemental people.

😃😃😀

Morning deb97936 Dont know whats going on with me at the moment with these nightmares hope they soon stop. i didnt want to go to bed last night in fear of having another one. My mum said all that to me but when the same happened to my sister who is alot older than me nothing got said to her. My mother in law didnt want my husband to marry me because I had 2 children out of wedlock she said I would have affairs behind his back? she did everything she could to put him off me. 12 years down the line and no affairs? take care deb gentle hugs x

I like that as our mantra meg, wish people wouldnt judge us and appreciate us for who we are wouldnt that be nice if they did.  take care hun big hug from me to you xx

Hi Meg,

You can add links as long as they are to reputable non commercial websites. I've included one link below on this subject if it helps or Googling transcranial magnetic stimulation fibromyalgia gives plenty of results mainly on the study discussed below.

Soon agree with deb here Kaz....your life is far too important and valued to let horrid things like that dictate to you how you should live today..as deb said..attitudes were not nice at all back then....my mother in law, whom I really love..said if you marry him you will never have nothing..mm...soooo the opposite,  she thinks very differently today..but she said it because she cared...really hope and pray you will have lovely dreams..and no more bad nightmares like that..love your self...your dad would love the way you are now..be blessed Kaz, have a lovely dream next time you go to sleep., unfortunately the tongue is life and death...you are more than worthy of life abundantly...think of good times when your going to sleep..even try imagining what we all look like....lol....mm...-) xxx

Kaz, sooooo agree..oops...

With you there deb...I can't get into a spa..even our bath...I've got 24/7 vertigo...the fluid in my left ear has just about all cristalizred..due to Sorgrens Syndrome...had it's been like that soo long now..it's easy enough to live with..at least it's not  painful...so I need railing on each side to help..fortunately the heated indoor pool I use has got one..yay...but that would be my dream to have a heated pool that I could get into..:-) xx dreaming on...lol..be blessed deb..have a lovely day..

Hi christine I have been dreading go to bed didnt want to have nother nightmare. I slept well last night woke up at 6 this morning no nightmare thankgoodness. I had a tenz unit before, and at times it helped, and medical insurance will pay for it. Mine was rented through the insurance and any an all things needed with it were supplied.

Hi Meg.  I'd heard of this type of therapy for anxiety/depression before but hadn't seen it mentioned for pain treatment. very interesting.  It is however very expensive, definitely not funded here in the UK by the NHS, not sure about other countries and their insurance providers.  I think the average cost per session, without insurance, is probably in the region of £500 - £1000.
