I heard about a Chinese medicine named Thunder god vine. Any update is appreciated. Thankyou
I have never heard of it but would be very interested to know about it
Hi Ann
I am currently using TCM and am personally finding it very effective, far more so than using MXT. It's early days yet, as I was diagnosed in late August. The benefit of TCM is that it rebalances, rather than supresses the immune system (in the case of MXT et al), helps to reduce inflammation and pain. The added benefit is, you take it during flare ups. I am currently taking du huo ji sheng wan, which is a generic herbal treatment for RA and similar conditions. There is a strong generic available if necessary. If either of these don't work, TCM Drs formulate treatment for individual's needs.
I currently take small doses of NSAIDs as needed currently. Also taking Turmeric supps and drink fresh turmeric and ginger tea. Easy to make with fresh roots and a dash of freshly ground pepper.
All the best
Hi Ann,
Yes, I have heard of this. Yes, I am interested in learning about alternative ways of addressing various maladys.
After 54 long years of living with a brutal JRA (since I was 11), I am weary from getting my hopes up for a cure derived from the latest craze.
I still wear my copper bracelet...in fact I purchased a couple of them...and all it has ever done for me is hid the deformity of my wrist.
Because I do not want to be suggestive to a susceptible person, I am choosing to leave out the names of the compounds that have been touted as miracle cures over these past five decades.
Nor do I want to leave anyone without hope. We need hope to succeed in living despite having a serious disease.
Perhaps you will read another thread:

Ann, I truly believe that no cure for RA nor JRA exists. Today, our scientists have studied plant remedies so that they can uncover the active ingredients that so many before the advent of modern medicine depended upon. Much of this research has become the basis of medications regularly prescribed today.
Yet as an oldie, I will not say, "never." What I do say is, "not yet."
Buyer beware....here in the USA, despite our Food and Drug Administration, people will cook something up in their kitchen...and children and young adults die. Not too long ago, the USA found lead in the paint used to paint children's toys...that were imported from another country...and our children suffered lead poisoning.
The very best action...buyer beware.
If this is a miracle cure, I want to hear about it from Oxford or University of Chicago....
kind regards

Hi again, Ann
With a nod to Judith's sage advise, to qualify, the TCM formula I mentioned is Internationally GMP certified, and recommended by specialists, and passes rigorous testing when imported to the country in which I live.
As I mentioned, I am finding it effective currently, and it is early days for me. Individuals should discuss treamtent options with their Rheumatologists, and do their own research - taking heed of respected university studies into treatments.
Postive frame of mind is essential.

oops 'advice'
You can try it Ann, there seems to be a jillion and one things on the market to help with RA. I tried a few of them and gave it up. My advice is to research the RA sites and they recommend certain herbs/seasonings that help like turmeric, ginger, etc.
You won't belive it but my rhumatholigist told me about this herb. I googled it too. It claims to hepo. Howevet I don't know where yo get it thou.
What dies TCM stand for ? Thanks I'm interested x
Amazon sells it but to my mind I will not try anything without my rheumy approval....so, at my next appointment I will ask about it.
kind regards
judith
